The performances

Below are unedited comments of members who attended the recital -- which convinced the Society to make a CD of this remarkable recital available to members at cost.

“Many congratulations on the concert. It was a concert of a lifetime. I never expected to hear both these fantastic works live. Will you be issuing a cd of it???”

“Still recovering from that incredible performance of the Concerto on Wednesday which I thought was up there with the very best. I do hope Paul will play for the Alkan Soc again. Has he thought of making a private recording for the Soc. or indeed just for himself while he has the work so comprehensively well in his fingers? His playing added a whole new dimension to the word "amateur".”

“A brief note of gratitude for the organisation of venue choice, artist choice (...) A wonderful event. Paul Wee completely re-thought the concerto. Extraordinary. With such a large canvas, the choices of expression are pretty limitless ... but the choices made need to convince - which they resolutely did for 95% of the time. A terrific experience.”

“It was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS...”

“I thought that this week's AGM and recital were a total triumph.”
